West Cobb Girls Softball
Association presented Rich Goldberg
with an appreciation plaque on July 31st. Rich served
16 years on the WCGS board.
Some of his responsibilities were working with the WC
Community Service girls, scorekeepers
and serving as a coach for many years.
His hard work and dedication will be greatly missed.
WCGS wishes him the very best of luck in his future
endeavors!
2008 WCGS
Scholarships Awarded
On June 26th, 19
Scholarships were awarded
totaling $8,825.00.
Since 1994, West Cobb Girls Softball has awarded over 200
Scholarships
for a total in excess of $116,000. Funding for this
program comes
mainly from concession profits.

THE WEST COBB 14U DYNAMITE
The West Cobb Dynamite went 5-0
this weekend to win the
NSA "A" Summer Shootout Championship in Dalton.

THE WEST COBB 10U "SWAT
TEAM"
The 10U WC all-stars placed 2nd in the
USSSA State tournament on June 14.
The girls played an awesome tournament,
playing 5 games in 7 hours, finishing at 1:30 am Sun.
morning!
They really gave it their all and found out what they were
made of!
We are so proud of their efforts!

WEST COBB 8U XTREME
The 8U Slow Pitch All-stars, Xtreme
went 3-0 this weekend to place 1st
in the
Kennesaw Summer Slam.
Way to go Xtreme!
WEST COBB 14U HURRICANES
The 14U fast
pitch all-stars went 3-2 and finished 2nd in the Kennworth
"Bring It On Tournament"
this past weekend.

COACHING FOR THE CURE"-
Helping Kids Kick Cancer
If you or your
team is interested in helping find a way to cure childhood
cancer, this is an
excellent way. This program was
inspired by a nine year old boy who had leukemia.
If
your child participates in a team sport the team can
donate the money they collect for a
coach's gift at the
end of the season to "Coaching for the Cure". This
donation to "Coaching for
the Cure" becomes your gift to
your coach. This is a gift everyone can feel good about.
A gift that teaches many lessons while touching many lives.
