2014 Spring Registration

With almost 800 girls in age groups between 4 and 19 years of age, West Cobb Girls Softball offers both Spring and Fall recreation programs, along with Summer all-stars, and a growing Travel Team organization. Lost Mountain Park offers 8 well maintained fields along with 4 batting cages and 2 concession stands. Our program offers your daughter an opportunity to learn the game, grow as a player, and make new and lasting friendships.

A player must be at least 4 years old and no older than 19 years old, determined by their age as of 12/31/2013.

Requirements for Draft Eligibility

  • Register (either online or at the park) and complete payment
  • Participate in skills assessment (N/A for Sugar & Spice and 19U - Slow Pitch)
  • Deliver $75 concession deposit check (or pay $50 non-refundable fee during registration)
  • Any player that does not meet the above requirements will be randomly placed on a team after drafts are completed

Concussion Awareness (UPDATED: 12/18/2013)

  • UPDATE - We are now allowed to collect this "signature" electronically, so it has been added to the online registration form.
  • There is a new focus on concussion awareness, now required by law for all youth sports.
  • As such, we have information available for everyone (athletes, coaches, parents) available on the website.
  • An acknowledgement form is required to be read and acknowledged during your online registration.

Registration Dates

  • Register ONLINE by Saturday, January 18 to avoid LATE FEES!
    • Online registration will be unavailable on Friday, January 24 starting at 5pm in order to prepare for skills assessments.  It will re-open on Sunday, January 26.
  • Walk-in registrations will also be taken at the park on January 25 & Februrary 1
    • Late fee will still apply since this is after the deadline.
  • Late registration fee of $20 applies starting Sunday, January 19.
  • Late registrations will be taken until an age group is full OR Friday, March 7 (whichever comes first)

Skill Assessments

  • Will be held Saturday, January 25 (UPDATED: 1/17/2013)
    • Make-up held on Saturday, February 1 (UPDATED: 1/17/2013)
  • Participation is MANDATORY (see exceptions below) to be draft eligible
    • Must attend ONE session
    • Not applicable for Sugar & Spice (4-5 yr old) OR 19U (Slow-Pitch)
  • Assessments will be conducted based on FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED order
  • Must bring $75 concession deposit checks (if applicable)

Fees

  • Sugar & Spice (4-5 yr old) - $50
  • Senior Sugar & Spice (6 yr old) - $60
  • 8U (Universal) - $90
  • Slow-Pitch (10U and older) - $90
  • Fast-Pitch (10U and older) - $115
  • $25 "Out-of-County" fee applies to all non-Cobb County residents
  • $20 Late Fee applies beginning Sunday, January 19
  • $25 sibling discount (does NOT apply for Sugar & Spice or Senior Sugar & Spice)

Schedule

  • Drafts: Monday, February 3 - Thursday, February 6
  • Practice begins Saturday, February 8
  • Opening Day: Saturday, March 8
  • NO Games for Spring Break (Saturday, March 29 - Saturday, April 5)
  • Last Regular Season Game: Thursday, May 1
  • Post-Season Tournament (Saturday, May 3 - Saturday, May 10)

Coaches are needed!

Last season several age groups were limited in size due to the lack of Head Coaches. Spring 2014 available spots will be filled based on PLAYER REGISTRATION DATE. Signup EARLY to ensure your spot!

Coach Registration

If you are interested in applying for a head or assistant coaching position, click HERE to register today!  Any head or assistant coach that registers, is approved by the board, and assigned a team BEFORE the drafts will be exempt from participating in their team's assigned concession duty.  There can be only one official head and assistant coach per team.

Concession Fee Policy

This season we will offer two concession duty options. First, a $75 concession duty deposit check (see Concession Process for additional details). Upon completion of your assigned duty, your deposit check will be destroyed.  This deposit check will be collected at the time of registration or (if using Online Registration) on the first day of practice.

The second option is a non-refundable $50 fee. If you select this option you will NOT be assigned concession duty for this season.  This fee will be collected at time of registration (for both online and walk-in).

Concessions fees are per player unless sisters are on the same team.

Refund policy

  • Full refunds will be made upon request until Saturday, February 1
  • Full refunds for season ending injuries will be made until Sunday, March 23
  • NO other refund requests will be considered
